Implementing NextGen Mobile

Now that you know the difference in functionality between the NextGen Complimentary and the Mobile Plus version, we will discuss how easy the implementation process is.

NextGen Mobile implementation can be broken down into the following steps:

  1. Decide and communicate which tier and functionality is desired to NextGen or OSIS Project Manager if you are an OSIS Member.
  2. Expresslink API, the application that connects the NextGen EMR system to NextGen Mobile will need to be installed.
  3. Enrollment in NextGen Mobile Cloud Portal. The administrator identified during initial engagement will receive a welcome email for NextGen Cloud Portal and will be asked to enrollThe Cloud Portal is where NextGen Mobile users are managed.
  4. Select a “beta” provider to test NextGen Mobile and enroll them as a new user.  BETA
  5. Once the beta provider is comfortable with the application, full roll-out can begin. Enroll additional providers through the NextGen Mobile Cloud PortalThe application should require minimal training for any provider who is already using NextGen. To get the most out of NextGen Mobile, make sure you leverage training resources and beta provider to assist with training.

Why chose NextGen Mobile?

NextGen Mobile is a great tool to enable NextGen EHR users with patient demographic and clinical information and can be a very beneficial tool for physicians to document patient visits more efficiently.  With its real-time communication and collaboration among providers for approvals, lab reviews, or consults, providers are timelier in evaluating their patient needs.  Implementing proper training and proper use of this application can reduce overall physician burden in the EHR experience.
