Capturing Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Services for quality reporting, such as annual Uniform Data System (UDS) submission or Service Area Competition (SAC), can be tricky. Since Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) may be provided by a variety of provider types, clearly outlining these within the electronic health record (EHR) is essential for accurate data capture and reporting. This article can guide practices in the configuration of providers within their electronic health records to ensure reporting requirements for MAT services are captured and reported accurately. Though UDS is the primary program discussed, the information provided within this article will be beneficial for various other quality programs where MAT services must be reported.
